Roundtable 1 – Politics of the Rule of Law

Highlights

 

Our inaugural We, the People Roundtable titled “Politics of the Rule of Law” took place on 25 March 2021. The guests at our table included two former Constitutional Court judges, a law professor, a political commentator and an audience of ordinary South Africans who wanted to understand the true meaning of the rule of law. Together we inquired how we can hold our public officials accountable, how we can strengthen the rule of law, and how we can navigate the delicate balance of alternative forms of justice such as the Truth and Reconciliation and the rule of law.
